Upon the approval of the Ministry of Transport, the Office of Defense Cooperation of the US Embassy in Hanoi in collaboration with the Vietnam Maritime Administration held a training course on medical first aid for maritime search and rescue operations trained by experts and lecturers of the Regional Military-Civil Support Unit IDOPACOM (RCMSE-IP).
The training course was held from June 17 to June 21, 2024 at the Regional Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre No.III (Vungtau MRCC) with the participation of 10 officials from Vungtau MRCC; 02 civil servants of the Maritime Administration of Vungtau and 03 civil servants of the Department of Health of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.
The purpose of the training course is to equip trainees with knowledge and skills in medical first aid in maritime search and rescue operations.
After 5 days of training, trainees have exchanged, discussed and acquired knowledge, practical skills along with new equipment on hemostasis in first aid for victims of incidents at sea; directly practiced wound treatment cases given by lecturers to have a direction for handling when encountered in reality.
