Implementing the 2023 propaganda plan, on November 24, 2023, Regional Maritime Search and Rescue Co-ordination Centre No.IV presided over organizing the propaganda meeting of maritime safety, security and medical first aid with the coordination from Phan Rang Coastal Radio Station. The propaganda meeting was held at the People’s Committee of Dong Hai ward, Phan Rang city, Ninh Thuan province and attracted more than 100 fishermen to attend.
In addition to disseminating assistance methods when encountering incidents at sea, introducing life-saving equipments, smoke signals, hand torches, how to give first aid to drowned victims and to bandage wounds, introducing medical medicine bags on the ship; the local fishermen were also given medical medicine bags, life jackets, lifebuoys, propaganda papers, and national flags by Regional Maritime Search and Rescue Co-ordination Centre No.IV.
Through the propaganda meeting, all the participant units have proposed solutions to minimize risks and incidents on the sea for fishermen so that they can feel assured to keep their fishing jobs and sponge onto the sea. Together with relevant forces, each fishing vessel and fisherman will more and more actively contribute to protecting the ownership right of national sea and islands./.
