The Delegation of the Armed forces of the Philippines and Philippine Coast Guard Visits and Works with the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre

On the morning of October 21, 2024, the Philippine delegation visited and worked at the headquarters of the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC).

Representing the Vietnamese side were Mr. Nguyễn Văn Tính - Deputy General Director of the MRCC, Ms. Trần Thị Tuyết Mai Anh - Head of the International Cooperation Department-IMO, Vietnam Maritime Administration, along with several MRCC officials. On the Philippine side, the delegation was led by Colonel Glenn Joy Ubalde Aynera - Director of the Joint Doctrine Center and Development, Command and General Staff College, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and included Lieutenant Colonel Charlyne Tantong - Head of Administration, Coast Guard Command and Staff College, Philippine Coast Guard, Colonel Ronald Gaboy - Military Attaché, Philippine Embassy in Vietnam, and other officers from the Philippine Coast Guard and Armed Forces of the Philippines. Lieutenant Lê Hoàng Kim from the Southeast Asia Department, Ministry of National Defense, Vietnam, organized the visit.

During the meeting, the Philippine side was introduced to the functions, tasks, and organizational structure of the MRCC, followed by a tour of the headquarters. The Philippine representatives also presented an overview of their delegation and the national search and rescue system in the Philippines. Both sides exchanged experiences on operational procedures and coordination processes.
